"Stanislavski once wrote that you should ‘play well or badly, but play truly.’ It is not up to you whether your performance will be brilliant – all that is under control is your intention. It is not under your control whether your career will be brilliant – all that is under control is your intention."

Monday the 15th

*Hopefully your kids brought this letter home to you yesterday! :o)

10 Nov. 2010

Dear Parents:

Monday the 15th of November is a half day, despite that fact we need to have a rehearsal. Mrs. Raskopf and I are willing and able to hold rehearsal right after school – the kids would be dismissed at 11:30am and would have half an hour or so for lunch in the cafeteria (they need to bring their lunch; and they should have a snack or two for the afternoon). We would then conduct rehearsal.

This letter is to ask parents what the best time frame for rehearsal would be – being that many parents work, and there will be NO school provided transportation that day … (we’re almost like free day care for the afternoon…)

We could hold rehearsal from 12 – 3pm or 12-5pm. (Either time frame will include appropriate breaks for the kids.)

There is still A LOT to be done with the show, and having a “long” rehearsal that day would benefit us greatly – especially where the technical aspects are concerned.
~Working with the costumes.
~Implementing the lighting – working with the spot lights etc…
~Dealing with the set pieces and their transitions.
~Working the newly learned (and not yet learned) fight choreography.
~Working the flying sequences.
~And working on all the “fix it” pieces in the different scenes.

So, I would like to ask everyone to let me know which time frame is preferable, and to please let me know by Friday so that I can notify the kids on Monday’s time frame before the weekend (it will also go on the blog).

PLEASE EMAIL ME at margaret.e.hall@googlemail.com or call me at 518-428-1351
Thank you!
~Margaret
