"Stanislavski once wrote that you should ‘play well or badly, but play truly.’ It is not up to you whether your performance will be brilliant – all that is under control is your intention. It is not under your control whether your career will be brilliant – all that is under control is your intention."

Articulation Poem

Articulation is very important, this should be combined with strong project so that the dialogue is heard clearly - and loudly - throughout the theatre! :o)

Here's a poem that helps to open the mouth, and has a lot of d's & t's, that should be clearly articulated ...

I had a Hippopotomus
I kept him in a shed
I fed him up on vitamins (pronounced like vit-ah-mins)
And vegetable bread (pronounced like veg-ah-tah-ble)
Lest he should be affected by Depression or the Dumps
By Hippopotomeasles or Hippopotomumps!
